Notes and common mistakes
One portal, two file-size statements
The application form’s photo-upload note and the e-visa request information section of the same portal give different file-size ceilings for the applicant’s portrait [1]. Both appear in the portal’s own interface text; the spec table above shows the upload note’s figure, and the request-information figure is listed under “Also specified” [1].
The portrait is part of an automatic form fill
The portal states that after the portrait and the passport data page image are uploaded, the application fills in personal information automatically, and asks applicants to check and correct anything that is wrong [1]. The portrait requirements — recent, front-facing, no hat, no glasses, polite clothes, white background — are stated in that same instruction [1].

Questions
Can I wear glasses or a hat in a Vietnam e-visa photo?
No — the portal's photo note lists no glasses and no hat, together with polite clothes and a white background [1].
What file size does the portal accept for the portrait?
The upload note on the application form states jpg/jpeg format with a file size of 2 MB or less [1]. The e-visa request information section of the same portal states 10 MB or less for the same portrait [1].
